The name North Fork doesn’t mean much to those outside of our family but to us it is so very important. Back in the 1960’s our Grandfather, Robert (Bob) Wyatt, purchased a plot of land in the small community of Glen Haven, Colorado. Glen Haven is located about 15 minutes to the north east of Estes Park. He then spent a handful of years driving out from his home in South Central Kansas, building all aspects of his cabin in the mountains. Although Bob is gone, his cabin in the forest still remains within the family, and the legacy of what he created still brings joy and fellowship to friends and family 60 years after he first envisioned it. The cabin sits on the North Fork of the Big Thompson River and the road the cabin resides on is North Fork. The legacy and the pride of creating something that can be enjoyed and loved for generations is what we place front and center in our work with our clients.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠, what Shawn has found is that most people are doing “some variation of the exact same thing” as everyone else. It’s like the financial services industry, including banking, decided that we should all fit in one nice and neat channel. While we all have similarities as humans, our life and financial goals vary wildly from person to person. We are all different in our patterns of consumption, i.e. our wants. Shawn is want focused in his planning. If a product or strategy won’t aid you, the client and boss, in finding your path efficiently to your wants, he will help you steer clear. All individuals, families, and business have paths to their wants that are most efficient and Shawn’s role is to research and educate you on your options so that you can make the decision you feel most comfortable with. He is confident that his processes and strategies can help make a material difference in the life of your family and/or your business.
Shawn has lived in central Kansas all his life and has been a Hutchinson resident since 2008. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Kansas Methodist Foundation. He is a former member of the Public Policy Advisory Committee at the Reno County Chamber of Commerce, former board member at the Cosmosphere - International SciEd Center and Space Museum, and the former treasurer of Young Professionals of Reno County. He enjoys spending his free time with family (wife Sheena and daughters Shaylee and Shannon), reading, golfing (both ball and disc), and hunting.

Seth M. Surface
Seth was born in Hutchinson, KS and has been a Kansas resident his entire life currently residing in the small community of Sterling. He has lived in many different areas around Kansas but has spent most of his time in the central and eastern parts of the state. Seth graduated from Emporia State University with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Services. While at ESU, Seth played football for the Hornets for four years and brings the hard work and dedication it took to be a student athlete to his career as a financial professional.
Seth has seen the impact that proper financial planning has played in the lives of many of his own family members and wants to be able to positively impact the lives of those around him in that same way. His goal is to become the trusted advisor in his client’s financial life. Seth plans on managing assets actively and consistently providing relevant service to both prospective and existing clients.
Seth enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Karsen, and larger family in Sterling.
